Lev 16.1-5, 29-34 – In our second message on fasting, we look at the Day of Atonement, the one part of the Hebrew ritual that could be the only fast God ever commanded. The word for fasting is not used, but in Acts 27 the day is called “the Fast.” Jewish tradition likewise held it as a fast. However, as part of the Jewish Law, it does not bind Christians to fast, nor does it prohibit Christians from fasting.
