The apostle Paul faced uncertainty with many enemies and a controling authority, the Romans who held him prisoner. The Lord said he would go to Rome. How would he get there? Paul used ever means the Lord put into his life, providentially, in order to further his own goals to reach Rome as planned. As we watch him use providential means, we find instruction in how we must serve God ourselves, without direct revelation, trusting to God’s providence each step of the way.
