Hebrews 3.1-6 – This week we pick up on the term “house” in our passage. It is connected both to Jesus and Moses. Some argue that it speaks to the continuity of the people of God in the Old Testament and the New Testament. Thinking through other Scriptures on what the term “house” is used for leads us to note that the house of Israel and the house of the Church are two different bodies in God’s economy. Consequently, in this age, if any Jew wants to know God and have eternal life, he must turn to Jesus. And Christians should reach out to any Jews they know and call them to come to Jesus.
