1 Pt 1.14-16
The construction of this section compares with verse 13, a supporting participle undergirding the imperative, “be holy.” Who should be holy? The children of obedience, that is, those born again by the magnifcent salvation for which Peter blessed God (vv.3-12). How should they be holy? First, by refusing conformity with their former lusts, then by imitating the Holy God who saved them.
