Acts 26.1-8
As Paul begins his apologia before Herod Agrippa II, he links himself closely with the Jewish nation. He sees Agrippa as somewhat included in that number, though Herod’s involvement is political and in the interests of power. The opening lines of Paul’s defense point to the culmination of Judaism in Jesus Christ, making the point that God transformed true religion from one expressed by deeds to one expressed by faith alone. This transforming issue is the one that confronts everyone who hears the gospel of Jesus Christ.
