Deuteronomy 5.1-33 As Moses opens his second sermon in Deuteronomy, he focuses on the Ten Commandments, but adds material not contained in Exodus. The additional material focuses on the commandments as a founding document for the new nation, adding the formal appointment of Moses as the representative of the people to God. God calls the people to follow his law through their life journey, even as the Word of God guides the Christian every step of the way.
