Matthew 3.4-12 – In this passage, where John’s challenging baptism is described, we point out that baptism is intentionally divisive and confrontational. For the recipients, it is a matter of joyful obedience, but for outside observers, it marks a division and challenge. If they don’t have faith in Christ, it calls for repentance and change in worldview.
