Hebrews 2.16: The Incarnation occurred to benefit the sons of Abraham. This curious phrase causes us to pause. What about the rest of the world? There is a sense in which the author is writing to Jewish believers, but even more it seems he echoes Paul’s emphasis on Abraham’s descendants by faith. The effect of the Incarnation is to help believers.
