Rev 2.12-17 Pergamum, the capital of Roman Asia, the center of pagan ritual, the persecutor of the saints, is also the home of a church that was too friendly to false teachers. Why did they do this? The text doesn’t say, but the Lord condemns the friends of the Pergamum church. The Lord calls them to repent, or he will make war on them … scarcely a position any of us want to be in.
