Acts 23.1-5
After Paul’s arrest, the Tribune brings him before the Sanhedrin in attempt to understand why Paul should remain in custody. He hopes the Sanhedrin will bring clarity, but the hearing opens inauspiciously. The high-priest calls for someone to strike Paul a blow, Paul responds sharply, then, on learning to whom he is speaking, Paul offers an apology for his terms (though not for his position). All of this gives us some insight into how we should speak to the leaders God gives us in our world.
