Yesterday we held a “Drive-In” service for Easter. Debbi and I have “hands-free” Bluetooth devices for our vehicles that also have an “FM broadcast” feature – meant for broadcasting from your phone to your car radio. When talking about drive-in services they heard about elsewhere, my family got the idea of trying out our devices to see if we could do a low range broadcast suitable for a special Easter service.
Cobbling together a computer, the Bluetooth device, and a USB microphone, we had success! I was extremely nervous about it, but went along for the ride. Fortunately everything worked as advertised and we managed to gather in our church parking lot to honor the Lord this Easter. We even had some visitors, folks came who haven’t been in our services before.
The video for this comes from our video camera, using the audio from our less than stellar mic in the camera. I tried editing with alternatives, but the project was tricky, trying to get sound lined up with moving lips! In the end, it seemed best to just use the audio from the camera. I cut out some transitions as you will see.
Happy Easter to everyone, may the Lord bless you and yours where ever you are. And may he soon lift the plague of the coronavirus from our land!
